Michelle Murphy:

OMG! WE went yesterday and had a BLAST! If I'd known that I would have that much fun I would have planned on staying overnight and been there again today. They have done a wonderful job with this Faire. It reminded me what going to Faire used to be. Full of shows and wonderful people. It's a community of Rennies that do it because they love it.

The Vendors - They were all great to talk to and most of their prices are really reasonable. The only down side was that there are not that many of them as this is a small faire, for now. So if you're looking for the shopping mall of some of the larger faires you won't find that mall like experience here. All the vendors seemed like they were having a good time. When's the last time you saw someone who owns a booth having a good time even though they know the person they were talking to couldn't afford their goods? They would talk and chat and didn't ignore you because you were "just looking". There was only one Masseuse but DAMN he's good. He was able to get to the muscles in my back THROUGH my bodice. I was ready for a nap after almost a full day. After only 10 minutes of his working on my back I was ready to party the night away. (Unfortunately the hubby wasn't  ) At a $1 a minute he was worth it.

Food and Drink - This year they had a major food vendor have to back out on them but what they got on short notice was good. The gyros were worth the $6 I paid. At the pub the water is very reasonable at $1 a bottle. The beer was from the Ft. Collins Brewery for $4.50. They only had 3 different kinds, but what do you want for a small faire? They had IPA so KC was happy. They also had Gatorade and Pepsi products for $3 a bottle; those are the only things that I thought were a little high on price. The VIP tent was $20 for shots of 10 different things to choose from, a cigar, that's where you go to see the performers sing all their X-Rated material. I didn't go in as I couldn't pay for it, but was told by those who did that it was great material and they laughed their butts off. I could hear their laughing all the way over at the bar.

The Entertainment - what can I say? They ROCKED! I watched Iris and Rose have more fun on stage yesterday than I've seen in the last few years at another place. They sung a lot of the old stuff so we could still sing along and they have some Really good new stuff. The Mr. E Brothers were very cute and funny. I wanted to bring them home with me and feed them. They were just adorable! Towards the end of the day they had an ol fashion Pub Sing. I'd almost forgotten how much fun those are. I was again reminded of why I started doing fairs and why I loved them so much. I didn't get to stay for the movie at 9pm, but I have no doubt that it was just as much fun as the rest of the day.

The Site was perfect! They have grass everywhere! No dust! It's flat with a lot of trees and paths through them. The temp was supposedly in the high 80s but it didn't feel like it. There was soooo much shade. There was also a wonderful breeze coming off the pond that is right next to it. I decided to check out all the stages even though I didn't stay for all the acts. EVERY one had shade for the performers as well as the audience. How's that for nice.

The Management - How much fun are they! They are so relaxed and nice. They thanked his patrons AND us playtrons. I love their philosophy of what a 'family' show is. 'We are a family show we have stuff for the little ones as well as the adults. Just because we are a "family" show doesn't mean you have to leave out the adult entertainment' At the fairy glen are the kids' shows where the little ones can play games and see the G rated stuff that they love. A little further up you get into the PG shows for your older kids. At the Pub you get the R-rated shows for mom and dad. They were open from 10am till 11pm. It was a full day of fun and merriment. Well worth the price of admission. If you want to know what Faire was meant to be in the good ol' days go to this one. The good ol' days are back here, when you could play cards or a game at a table and not have "the man" getting pissed and not getting fired when you don't even work there. I plan on going next year and staying the whole weekend. If they can keep this up, this Faire will be something you can't miss.

All in all I had more there than at most of the other fairs I've been to. I urge you all to plan on going next year and make a weekend of it.
